With Andrey Rublev playing for his country, the tournament couldn’t get any better. The Russian Tennis Federation has successfully made it to the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup Finals on Sunday.

Rublev represented his country together with Aslan Karatsev against Marcel Granollers and Feliciano Lopez with a result of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 that lasts more than 2 hours. Earlier, he also played against Lopez in 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 for about an hour and 47 minutes.

Even Rublev’s opponent on the court has nothing but good words to say. Lopez, who is now 40 years old, did not expect that he will be representing Spain. He also had to battle against Rublev, which is above his expectation.

The Russian Tennis Federation also has the current World Number 2, Daniil Medvedev, to play for them. In an hour and 30 minutes, he managed to get past Pablo Carreno Busta, so he would be advancing to the quarter-finals, as well.

The 25-year old tennis champion is in a 5-0 lead and hit 14 winners. Their next challenger would be Sweden in the last eight. Spain is already out of the tournament, and Serbia is just waiting in the corner, as they are the second-best nation when it comes to tennis. They are well-represented by Novak Djokovic, the current World Number One.

Recently, Djokovic didn’t hold back his admiration for Dennis Novak for the shot got past him. As of now, Serbia has a 2-0 lead, and he is representing Serbia with Dusan Lajovic who just won against Gerald Melzer.
