Being known to tennis fans, Novak Djokovic might not attend the 2022 Australian Open because he doesn’t want to disclose his vaccination status.

Recently, the Australian government had released a statement that players should be vaccinated to play for the Australian Open, just to be fair with the locals. Therefore, putting his participation in one of the most prestigious ATP events into question.

However, Former World No. 1 Andy Roddick thinks that if Djokovic would skip the Australia Open, Former World No. 1 and long-time contender Rafael Nadal will be foaming at the mouth.

Djokovic commented coyly about the ban threat for unvaccinated players that it is his right not to reveal his vaccination status, simply because it is a private matter. However, Djokovic intends to go to the event, because it is the most successful grand slam competition that he had ever participated in.

With Djokovic’s possible absence in the tournament, there will be less threat for players to win the title. Nadal, since he was absent for a few months in tournaments, is determined to win the Australian Open title. Recently, Nadal mentioned that prior to the Australian Open, he would be joining the World Tennis Tournament in Abu Dhabi this December.

Roddick mentioned that they don’t have any idea about what’s going to happen during the tournament. Still, the thrill of competition is in the air now that the Spanish are back on court after a long rest and recovery period.
