Rafael Nadal has been suffering from an injury since the Wimbledon Open, and that forced him not to participate in some major ATP tournaments.

Although Nadal’s recent announcement delighted his fans, Novak Djokovic was pressured to meet The Spaniard on the court again.

Nadal confirmed that he would be joining the World Tennis Championship next month in Abu Dhabi after keeping his silence on his treatment. He also expressed his intention to join next year’s Australian Open as he disclosed that he is already vaccinated.

Todd Woodbridge, however, believed that Nadal’s announcement had a great impact on Djokovic. Djokovic is the current World Number 1, while Nadal has been known for holding the Top 1 ATP Ranking for so long. Because unvaccinated players are not allowed to enter Australia, Djokovic might not participate in one of the most prestigious ATP Tournaments.

Recently, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews shut the door for unvaccinated players because this is unfair to all Victorians. Djokovic is still unsure whether he could join the Australian Open as he doesn’t want to disclose his vaccination status.

Nadal is surely posing a threat to Djokovic as Nadal plans for his comeback. Earlier, he announced that he aims to be back on the court by the end of the year, and he is working hard to make it happen.

As the possibility for a faceoff is quite high on the court, fans would be in frenzy to see two World Number 1.
