From a mere British tennis teenager to a US Open Champion, Emma Raducanu had indeed surprised the world with her inspirational winning.
After being hailed as the US Open Champion, Raducanu had officially decided to replace Andrew Richardson with Nigel Sears, Andy Murray’s father-in-law.
Richardson was a long-time coach to Raducanu when she was still playing at her home court Bromley Tennis Centre. Sears, on the other hand, had more experience to maintain Raducanu at the top level of the WTA Tour.
Raducanu said that after she dropped at the Wimbledon Open, her ranking was around 200, and Richardson had become a great instrument after she won the US Open. However, she was at the stage of her career where she will playing the top tennis players in the world, so she needs someone more experienced to coach her.
Apart from Sears, she was backed up by Patrick Mouratoglou, who coached Serena Williams since 2012. The French coach said in an interview how young Emma Raducanu impressed her during the US Open.
Raducanu first played at Nottingham in June, and surprisingly, as new as she is in the professional tennis world, she is now ranked World Number 22. The next stop for WTA Tournament would be the prestigious Indian Wells tournament, which will be attended by Ashleigh Barty and Aryna Sabalenka.
She also said that she wanted to be ready wherever she would be playing next and her priority is putting her foot forward for the best possible pre-season.
