It is never new to Tennis fans that Aryna Sabalenka and Ashleigh Barty had an intense rivalry on the court. What made the result shocking is when Aryna Sabalenka managed to win over the World Number One from the Women’s division, Ash Barty, at the Madrid Open. The result was unexpected, and for the first time that happened in Barty’s lifetime.

Last month, Barty beat Sabalenka to shame when Sabalenka lost the biggest title of their tennis career, so perfect revenge was executed during the match, as the record ends up with 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 in favor of Barty. At the same time, Barty was everyone’s favorite to head into the final tournament.

However, Barty’s opponent has an attitude to never give up on every adversity, so Sabalenka produced a stunning finish by consecutively winning 11 points to give her opponent her first defeat since Rome Open 2019. Barty will remain as one of the crowd’s favorites at Roland Garros, where she won her first Grand Slam title. As of now, her current venture is to play against French Open champion Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka shared during an interview that she was injured, so she thought of withdrawing from the match. However, her recovery from the injury has been progressive, and now that she’s champion at the Madrid Open, she feels better now. She only took revenge by executing the same punishment to Barty.

One of Sabalenka’s winning techniques is when she converted the first with a thundering backhand and oozing confidence came out when she serves, leading to a 40-0 lead, thus her first-ever match point with Barty.
