Last-minute Goal

The term “Last-minute Goal” is used in football to describe a goal that is scored in the last minute of the football match or very late in the game. Such late goals or last minute goals alter the result of the match and come as a surprise. While last minute goals come a pleasant boon for the sides that score them, they devastate sides that concede them. One notable example of last minute goals is the final of the UEFA Champions League in 1999 when German powerhouse Bayern Munich conceded two late goals to Premier League powerhouse Manchester United to lose the match 2-1.
