History

Leicester City was formed in 1884.

The club is best known for a remarkable 2015-16 Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri, where the side achieved a football fairytale, winning the crown ahead of big spending opposition clubs despite having only been promoted the season prior.

Leicester remained a strong top-half side for years to come, particularly under Brendon Rodgers, who led them to the 2021 FA Cup crown, before being sacked amid a relegation battle in the 2022-23 season.
