Colon de Santa Fe

Based out of Sante Fe, Club Atletico was founded in 1905. The team started playing in the local leagues and won it 14 times before affiliating itself to the Argentine Football Association in 1947. The spent a long time in the lower divisions till they finally won the second division title, in 1965, to reach the Primera Division. Although relegated in the middle, the team has come back up every now and then and since 1995-96, have been a regular fixture in the top-division.

The club has a number of supporters despite its poor results & low standings and that is the main reason behind its rather large stadium, the Estadio Brigadier General Estanislao Lopez. Although the team has not won the top division, they have come second in the Apertura in 1997 and third in the Clausura in 2000.
