Inter Miami CF is a United States professional football club who currently competes in the Major League Soccer. The team is co-owned by ex-Manchester United star David Beckham and in 2023 signed global superstar Lionel Messi.
History
The club was founded in January 2018, but despite strong financial investment, has struggled on the field for good results since their introduction to the 2020 MLS season.
In 2021, the club added manager Phil Neville and signed Gonzalo Higuain, but finished 11th in the conference and 20th overall.
In 2022, Inter made the playoffs for the first time but were knocked out in the first round 3-0 by New York City.
After a poor first half of the 2023 season, Neville was sacked, replaced by Gerardo Martino, before the club made the big signing of Messi, with Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba following him to the club.
