Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club is a professional football club having their base in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The team is the present champion team of the Chinese Super League and their home ground is Tianhe Stadium. The Chairman of the team is Liu Yongzhuo whereas the head coach of the team is Marcello Lippi.

The team won the League Level one in 2011 and was the runner up team in 1992 and in 1994. They won the League Level two in 1956, 1958, 1981, 2007 and in 2010. They were the runner up team twice in 1983 and in 1990. They came in the third place in 2003 and in 2006.

The club was founded in June 1954 by the name of Guangzhou Football Team. Later on they were the first professional football club in China when Apollo Group took over them in January 1993. The team won five second tier league titles too.

Other than that, the team was the runner up team of the Chinese FA Cup in 1991 and the Chinese FA Super Cup in 2012.
