Toulon, aka Sporting Toulon Var is a professional football club from Toulon, France. At present, this club plays in the French sixth division. Founded in 1944, this club is managed by Luigi Alfano and presided by Jacques Jayet.

Sporting Toulon Var conception was after a merger between Jeunesse Sportive Toulonnaise in 1944. This club came into limelight post WWII leaving it only during one season in 1946-47. After eleven years in the second division, this club reached the highest division in 1959 in France, after finishing third in the second division, having been relegated the next year. Though this club never won the French Cup, they reached the semi final match on two occasions, in 1963 and in 1984.

The club was eliminated by Olympique Lyonnais in 1963 when they were half finalists. The next year, the club finished in the fourth place, accessing again to the first division, without success.

Major Achievements

Whilst in Ligue 2, the club won the title in 1983. In 1963 and in 1984, they reached the semi finals in Coupe de France and were runner up team of Coupe Gambardella in 1966. Moreover, they won the Championnat National in 1996.
