FC Carl Zeiss Jena is a German based association football club in Jena, Thuringia. Known also as Fußballclub Carl Zeiss Jena e.V, the nickname given to this club is FCC. Founded on 13th May 1903, the home ground of the team, Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld manages 12,990 seats. The team is managed by its chairman, Hartmut Beyer and by its manager, Petrik Sander.
The workers at the Carl Zeiss AG optics factory founded this club in 1903 as the company sponsored, Fussball-Club der Firma Carl Zeiss. This club underwent name changes to Fussball Club Carl Zeiss Jena e.V in 1911 and was again renamed in March 1917 to 1. Sportverein Jena e.V.

Major Achievements
In domestic, major League, this team was the winners of Gauliga Mitte, in 1935, 1936, 1940 and in 1941. They were the runners-up of this title twice, in 1939 and in 1942. Other than that, they were place in the third place in 1937.FC Carl Zeiss Jena was the winner of the DDR-Oberliga (East German Championship) title thrice, in 1963, 1968 and in 1970. The team was the runner-up team in 1958, 1965, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975 and in 1981. They were placed in the third place in 1977, 1979, 1980, 1983 and in 1986.
The proud winner of the Regionalliga Nordost title in 1995, the team was the runner up team of Regionalliga Nord title.
Other than that, the team won the NOFV-Oberliga Süd title in 2005. The team was the runner up team twice in 2003 and in 2004 and was placed in the third place in 2002.
FC Carl Zeiss Jena won the FDGB Cup (East German Cup) in 1960, 1972, 1974 and in 1980. The team was the runner-up team thrice. The winners of the Olympia Pokal in 1965 even won Regional League matches like Gau Thuringia almost 12 times, namely in 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1917, 1918, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927, 1931 and in 1933.
FC Carl Zeiss Jena won the Thuringia Cup in 1993, 1995, 1999, 2004 and in 2006. The team was the runner up team in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and in 2009.
Continental wise, the team was the runner up team in 1981 of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and group winners of the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1986, 1987 and in 1988.
