FC Karpaty Lviv

FC Karpaty Lviv is a Ukrainian football club based in the city of Lviv. They currently feature in the Ukrainian Premier League.

FC Karpaty Lviv were established in 1963 and started life in the Soviet Second League B. They gained promotion to the Soviet First League only in 1968 and on August 17,1969 became the furst and so far only club in USSR football to win the USSR Cup while playing in the Soviet First League.

Lviv featured in the Soviet Top League between 1970 and 1977 and then in 1980.In 1981 they merged with another Lviv club SKA Lviv and were reformed as SKA Karpaty but in 1989 the original name of the club was restored.

FC Karpaty Lviv play their home matches at the Ukraine Stadium that can accommodate 28,051 spectators.
