SK Sturm Graz is an Austrian football club based in Graz, Styria. They currently feature in the Austrian Bundesliga and are one of the most successful clubs of Austria.
SK Sturm Graz were established in 1909 as a working men’s men and reached nationwide attention only in the 1982-1983 season when they finished second in the league. The following season they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup.
In 1995 Sturm Graz again finished second in the league and then in the 1995-1996 season won the Austrian Cup for the first time in their history. Graz won the Austrian Bundesliga in 1998 for the first time in their history and successfully defended their crown in 1999. That year Graz also won the Cup and Super Cup, accomplishing a marvelous treble. In the 2000-2001 season Sturm Graz reached the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League second round. Since then though, Graz have gone somewhat downhill.
