FC Red Bull Salzburg is an Austrian football club based in Wals-Siezenheim. They currently feature in the Austrian Bundesliga and have won the league four times in their history.

FC Red Bull Salzburg were established on September 13,1933 as SV Austria Salzburg. In 1950 the club was disssolved but was refounfed again. In 1978 they were rechristened to SV Casino Salzburg and in 1997 became SV Wustenrot Salzburg.

Salzburg was on the league for the first time in their history in 1994. They successfully defended their crown in 1995 and won the lague again in 1997. In 1994 they also reached the final of the UEFA Cup.

FC Red Bull Salzburg play their home matches at the Red Bull Arena that can accommodate 31,100 spectators. They bear the nickname “The Bulls”.

FC Red Bull Salzburg were taken over by the Red Bull company on April 6,2005 and assumed their current name. Initially fan-clubs protested against this rebranding and the loss of tradition and history but after a while a section of the protestors decided to form a new club, SV Austria Salzburg.Red Bull won the Austrian Bundesliga in 2007.
