FC Krylia Sovetov were established in 1942 and played their first match in the Cup of the USSR on July 30,1944. Their first match in the Championship of the USSR (second group) took place on June 4,1945 against Torpedo.
Sovetov played in Europe for the first time in their history on July 6,2002. They featured in the second round of the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
