Debreceni VSC is a Hungarian football club based in Debrecen. They currently feature in the Hungarian first division.
Debreceni were established on March 12,1902 as Egyetertes Futball Club. After becoming independent they took on the name Debrecen Railway Sports Club. But they had to struggled for a good number of years but recovered graduallt and reached the Hungarian first division for the first time in their history in 1942-1943.
But Debreceni struggled to establish themselves as a top flight club and became a sort of yo-yo club for the next 50 years. During these years they changed their name several times.
In 1979 DVSC and DMTE (city rivals) merged together to form DMVSC but after ten years the clubs spli and DVSC assumed their current name.
DVSC won their first Hungarian league title in the 2004-2005 season and successfully defended their title the next season. They completed a superb hat-trick in the 2006-2007 season.
DVSC also won the Hungarian Cup in 1999,2001 and 2008.

They became Debreceni Vasutas Sport Egyesulet in 1948-1949, “Debreceni Lokomotiv in 1949, Debreceni Torekves in the 1955-1956 season and Debreceni Vasutas SC from 1957 to 1979.
DVSC play their home matches at the Stadion Olah Gabor that can hold 10,200 spectators. They bear the nickname Loki.
