NK Zagreb is a Croatian football club based in the capital Zagreb. They currently feature in the Croatian first division.
NK Zagreb were established in 1903 as PNISK and were one of the first clubs to be formed in Croatia. Their first official match was played between the club’s players divided into two groups in 1904. Their first international match was in 1905 against Magyar champions FTC.
Zagreb were overshadowed by other clubs after World War II but did win their first championship eventually in 2002, breaking the duopoly of NK Dinamo and NK Hajdu for the first and so far only time.
NK Zagreb play their home matches at the Stadion Kranjceviceva that has a capacity of 12,000. The club’s fans are known as the White Angels and are known for their opposition to all kinds of discrimination.
The clubs bears the nickname “The Poet”.
