A Uruguayan football club from Montevideo, Racing Club de Montevideo is also popularly known as La Escuelita or The Little School. The reason behind the nickname is the impressive number of talented players that the team has produced, that it is believed to be a player machine. With Fenix de Montevideo as arch rivals, Racing was at one point of time quite popular though currently the team is in a bit of a crisis.

Estadio Osvaldo Roberto is the team’s stadium, which has a seating capacity of 8,500. Some prominent former players include Leo Garcia, Ruben Sosa and Julio Acuna amongst others. Their major titles include the Uruguayan Second Division title in 1929, 1955, 1958, 1974, 1989 as well as 2007-08.
