A Uruguayan football club from Montevideo, Rampla Juniors Futbol Club was founded in the Aduana region. Popularly known as Rampla Juniors, the team is particularly known for its 1927 Primera Division championship win, which included players such as Pedro Aguirre, Pedro Cabrera, Juan M. Labraga, Pedro Arispe as Captain amongst others. Once ranked amongst the top three teams in the country, Rampla finished in 2nd place in 2007, tied with Danubio F.C. in the First division championship. During Rampla’s play in the Cerro area, the club took on the colors of Fortaleza, a popular club at that time.

Rampla has won the Segunda Division championship three times, in 1944, 1980 and 1992, and have so far made no appearance in any CONMEBOL competitions. Some former players from the team include Mauricio Weber, Ruben Paz and Jorge Manicera, amongst others. Some popular local nicknames of the club include Picapiedras and Rojiverdes.
