Coronel Bolognesi are a Peruvian football team based out of the city of Tacna. The team was founded in 1929 and christened after Francisco Bolognesi. Although the team is quite old in terms of years in existence, they only ever won their first title after the 2007 Primera Division Clausura championships. The 25,000 capacity Estadio Jorge Basadre saw Copa Libertadores action for the first time in its history, in 2008.

Jose Andre Bilibio, Diego Penny, Masakatsu Sawa and David Soria Yoshinari are some of the famous players to play for the club. The team has won the Copa Peru twice, in 1976 and in 2001 while they won the 2007 Primera Division’s Clausura Championship. They have had one appearance in the Copa Libertadores where they lost out in the first round of the 2008 season while their three Copa Sudamericana appearances have never seen them go past the first round.
