Based out of the city of Maipu in Santiago, Club Deportivo Magallanes are a football team that plays at the lowest division of Chilean football. When established, the team was known as Atletico Escuela Normal FC. The team went onto to change their name as well as become the first ever champions of the country. Out of the four Primera division titles won by the team, three were in the first three years of the foundation of a league structure in Chile. The team also won the 1937 edition of the Copa Chile and the Tercera Division, the lowest division, title in 1995. In 1985, Deportivo Magallanes qualified for the Copa Libertadores however, they failed to create any waves by losing out in the ver first round.

Despite not having won much for almost 70 years, the club is still ranked 7th in the country due to the number of titles it had won before the drought started.
