Deportivo Palestino is a professional football club based out of Santiago in Chile. The club was formed by Palestinian immigrants to Chile who decided to participate in the colonial competition in Osorno. Once the professional league came up, they were placed in the second division and immediately, they won the title to climb up to top-flight.
The club was a magnet for high profile, and top class, players and soon became known as Millonario, or the Millionaires. Their 1955 triumph at the top level was followed by a repeat performance in 1978. At the second division, Palistino won two championship titles. One in the first year of professionalism, in 1952 and the second came in 1972. They also won the Copa Chile twice in 1975 and in 1977.
Amongst the big names to play at the club, the names of Clarence Acuna, Jorge Munoz, Pedro Pinto and Hector Tapia standout the most.
