  1. FSV Mainz 05 is a German football club that plays in the second Bundesliga after being relegated at the end of 2006/07. In the season 2009/2010 they are promoted a second time in the first Bundesliga.

Die Nullfuenfer (the 0-Fives) play at Stadion am Bruchweg, which seats 20,300. The fans of Mainz 05 are considered as funny, friendly and good-humoured. For example the fans of the “Nullfuenfer” sings sometimes: “Wir sind nur ein Karnevalsverein!” which means: “We are just a carnevals team.” Mainz is one of the biggest carneval stonghold in Germany.

The best result was the half final of German Cup and the participants at the UEFA-Cup. The famous person is Juergen Klopp. He plays in the defence and trained the team for years. The biggest rivals are SV Wehen-Wiesbaden, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Kaiserlautern and TuS Koblenz.
