Sportsklubben Brann, commonly known simply as SK Brann, is a Norwegian football club based in Bergen. They currently feature in the Norwegian Premier League and are one of the biggest football clubs in Norway.

SK Brann were established on September 26,1908 when Christen K. Gran and Birger Gjestland along with eight other mean met in a local café in Berger. The club’s first match was against a local Bergen team on January 1,1909 that ended in a 1-1 draw.

SK Brann won the Cup in 1923 but had to wait until 1947 to qualify again for the Norwegian league. They won their first league championship in the 1961-1962 season and successfully defended their title in 1963. But the following year they were relegated from the league and gained promotion back to the Norwegian top flight in 1967.

SK Brann became a yo-yo team in the 1980s but gained stability in the 1990s, even featuring in the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996. Brann then won the championship in 2007 for the first time since 1963, this being their fourth Norwegian Premier League title.

SK Brann play their home matches at the Brann Stadion that can accommodate 17,824 spectators.
