Associacao Desportiva Cabofriense are a Brazilian football team based out of Cabo Frio in Rio de Janeiro. The club is relatively young and was founded in 1997. The team went bankrupt and the change in management that followed, also brought about a change in name to Cabo Frio Futebol Clube. However, in 2001, things were back to normal and so was the club’s name. Cabofriense play their home games at the 12,000 capacity Correao stadium.
The Marlin’s strength and combativeness led to its choice as the mascot of the club.
