Mathias Jattah-Njie JørgensenMathias Jørgensen Zanka> was born on 23 April 1990 in Copenhagen in Denmark. This Danish football defender is of a Gambian descent and plays for the F.C. Copenhagen club.

This six feet three inches shirt number is 25. Jorgensen joined the club from a neighboring club called as B.93, Boldklubben. He played in the first team matches at the young age of 16. Signing a three year contract with FCK in 2007, Mathias signed with the Danish champions and started playing for the Arsenal for a one week trial.

However, less than a month when he moved to the club on July in 2007, he got injured straining his inner ligament in the left knee. By September 9th, he played for the team, making his debut the same month in a cup match against FC Fredericia. He replaced Oscar Wendt five minutes prior to full time, in the match which won 3-1. Later on, after three days, he got a chance making his Superliga debut, replacing Hjalte Norregaard in 15 minutes prior to full time.

After his first team debut within eight days, he went ahead to play on pitch in the extra time of the UEFA Cup at the first round at the Parken Stadium against RC Lens. Mathias was substituted for Marcus Allback and played in the central defence along with Brede Hangeland. Both managed to prevent goals for Lens team with 10 against 11.

Mathias made his debut in 2008 for the Danish National Football team against Wales. His nickname, Zanka, was named after one of the main characters of the movie, Cool Runnings.

Career Highlights

Mathias got success when his team received Danish Superliga in 2008-09 and 2009-10 respectively. Along with this, Danish Cup in 2008-09 also made him and his teammates successful.

Apart from club achievements, Mathias individually excelled too. He received the Players Talent of the year award, the Arla Talent of the year and the Arlan U-19 National Team Talent of the year in 2008.
