Alfredo David Moreno is a professional football player from Argentina who plays as a forward. Moreno was a student of the Boca Juniors youth academy and went on to make his professional debut for the club in 1999. In just 16 games over 2 seasons, Moreno scored 7 goals, 5 of them in a single Copa Libertadores match against Blooming, from Bolivia.
In 2001, Moreno was sent out on loan, with an option to buy, to Club Nexaca in Mexico. Through the entire season, Moreno just played 10 games but scored 6 goals. Nexaca decided against buying Moreno permanently and he was back at Boca. He was sent out to China and Shandong FC where Moreno struggled both on and off the pitch. Scoring 6 times in 24 games was not good enough and he was back in Argentina at the end of the season.
Boca immediately sent him out to Russia to play for Lokomotiv Moscow, for a month, but returned without playing a single game. He stayed on at Boca for another year and half, scoring 2 goals in 5 games and was part of the team that won the Copa Libertadores title in 2000 and 2003. He also won the 2000 Apertura title with Boca. Moreno moved to Club Nexaca in 2003 and this time ‘round, things would be different. Despite scoring 10 times in 20 games, Moreno was unable to help his team go far in the post-season of the league.
However, despite the team’s fortunes, Moreno had finally found a place where he was playing well and stayed at Nexaca for the next four seasons. A regular in the starting lineup now, Moreno scored 42 goals in about 130 games and was quite popular with the fans.
At the end of the 2007 season, Moreno moved to San Luis F.C. and had his best season till date. He scored 26 times in almost 40 games to catch the eye of Mexican big-wigs Club America. However, after just 14 games in the 2008 season, Club America decided to loan him out to Nexaca where Moreno was ranked amongst the top-10 all-time scorers for the club. He scored 7 times in 14 appearances but on his return, was sold to San Luis F.C.
