A football defender from Argentina, Walter Dario Ribonetto played for local leagues in Corral de Bustos till the age of 27, at which point he began his professional football career with Lanus in 2001. He remained with the club till 2003, when he switched to Queretaro FC, a Mexican club. But Ribonetto did not remain with the club for long, and soon moved in Colombia to join Junior, in the same year itself.
In 2005 Ribonetto once again switched, this time to Paraguayan club, Olimpia, where he remained only for one season, before returning to Argentina. Ribonetto returned to Lanus, and went on to win the Apertura 2007 tournament, the first top level title for Lanus. The next season he transferred to Rosario Central, his current club.
