A professional footballer from Argentina, Omar Zarif is a midfielder who began his playing career in 1998. His first team was Docj Sud, a team in the regional 4th division of the Argentine League Structure. In 1998, the club fell through to the 5th division and Zarif continued to be a part of the side up until 2002. In 2002, he joined El Porvenir in the Primera B Nacional division for a year before moving to Los Andes for a year. Still in the Primera B Nacional division, Zarif shifted to Defensa y Justicia and Nueva Chicago, within two years.
At Nueva Chicago, he helped the team gain promotion to the top flight and then played at the top level for one year before moving to Club Atletico Huracan. Although Chicago were relegated, Zarif was still in the top flight and was a regular fixture in the first team at Atletico Huracan. In 2008, he signed up with Rosario Central.
