A professional footballer from Paraguay, Aureliano Torres began his professional career in 2001, with Irapuato. He was part of the team for two seasons, and since 2002, has played for 8 other football clubs, in just 6 years. His first move was to J-league side, Kyoto Sanga FC from Japan. After just 4 games, he was back in South America, playing for Paraguayan side Deportivo Recoleta.

In 2003, he left Recoleta for Sol de America, where 4 goals in 20-odd games got him the chance of playing for Club Guarani. He played just 30-games for Club Guarani before moving to Spain and to Real Murcia in the Spanish Segunda Division. He played 17 games for Murcia, scoring thrice, before returning to Club Guarani for his second spell that lasted almost 58 games. In 2007, he signed with San Lorenzo. Although he didn’t play any part in their triumph, Torres was part of the squad that won the 2007 Clausura title.

At the international level, he won the Silver medal at the 2004 Olympic games where they lost the finals to Argentina.
