Leandro Javier Diaz is one of the many professional footballers to emerge from the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. The midfielder came through the youth team at Boca Juniors where he played between 2004 and 2007. In between this time, in 2005, he moved to Spain with Ciudad de Murcia and Villarreal before returning to Boca in 2006.
In 2007, he graduated from the youth academy and was immediately loaned out to Club Atletico Huracan to gain some much needed experience. A year later, his loan spell was extended for another year. With over 35 games for Huracan, Diaz is beginning to make a place for himself in the first team especially after scoring twice, one of which was an overhead-kick against Independiente to score the match-winning goal.
