Micah Lincoln Richards is an England international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Manchester City. He plays as a defender and can play as centre-back or as right back, and is rated as one of the best young defenders in Europe.
Richards developed at the youth club of Manchester City and played his first competitive match for Man City in October 2005 against Arsenal and came on as a substitute. He made his first start against Charlton Athletic and really came into public picture in the 2006-2007 season when he was one of the outstanding players in the Premier League as he was rock in the centre of Man City defence.
Richards became a regular for Manchester City in the 2007-2008 season as playing as a right back he not only helped his team’s defense of their fortress but also contributed in his team’s attack during set-pieces. Richards was hailed as one of the best defenders in the Premier League in the 2007-2008 season. He has since become a regular at Eastlands but has often suffered with injuries.
Richards made his international debut for England in November 2006 against the Netherlands after he had played just 28 matches for his club Man City. He has scored 1 goal in 13 international matches so far and represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics.
