An Argentine professional footballer, Danilo is of Italian descent and also holds an Italian passport. His career began in the Segunda Division of the Argentine league where he joined Central Cordoba, from Rosario, in 2000. He shifted to Quilmes in 2002 and helped the team reach the Primera Division at a end-of-season playoff. Over the next two years. Danilo helped his team qualify for the Copa Libertadores as well as the Copa Sudamericana. After the 2004 season, Danilo moved to River Plate although has just managed to play about 35 games in just 3 or so bears.
