Giorgio ‘Cheese Panini’ Chiellini is a Italian footballer who currently features for the Italian giants Juventus. He plays as a centre-back and is rated as one of the best defenders in the world.
Chiellini commenced his playing career at modest Livorno in 2000 and was signed up by Juventus in the summer of 2004 for €6.5 million. However, he was immediately sold to Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal for €3.5 million and he played the 2004-2005 season for the Florence-based club.
Chiellini was recalled to Juventus in the summer of 2005 and has been a regular player for them at centre-back. His maturity and good form helped him earn his first international cap for Italy in November 2004 against Finland and is now a regular squad member in the Italian national team.
Chiellini won Serie A with Juventus in 2011-12 and reached the final of Euro 2012 with Italy. he was adjudged as the Serie A Defender of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
