Since the year 2000, Argetine born Ignacio Piatti has been travelling around the country, and abroad, for the sake of football. He started off in the youth squad at Club Mitre de General Baldissera, a local club from his hometown. His talent was quickly spotted and the youngster was picked within a year to play in the youth team at Newell’s Old Boys. In 2002, Italian giants AS Roma saw the youngster and decided to bring him on but after a season, they were content to let him go to Turkish club Galatasaray.
In 2003, from Galatasaray, Ignacio returned to his home land to make his mark in the Primera Division with Talleres. However, in his first year, he did not get any playing time on the field. He was sent to Chacarita Juniors in the next season and in his 50 matches with the team, he scored 10 goals. In 2005, Ignacio moved to France and played for AS Saint-Etienne however his French move became more of a holiday as he just played one match for the team. In 2007, he returned to Argentina and joined Gimnasia La Plata. In 52 games, he has already scored 9 times, quite impressive a tally for a midfielder.
