Born in Uruguay, Victor Lopez chose football as his profession and in his 18 year career, made great waves at the club level in his country as well as in others. Nicknamed Campanita, or “Little Bell”, Victor Lopez made his professional debut in 1990 when hw joined CA Penarol for three seasons. From Penarol, he moved to Ferro Carril Oeste for four wonderful years that saw him grab the attention of Spanish club, Extremadura. He moved to Spain in 1998 but the very same year, was back to play for Independiente in Argentina.
After a year at Independiente, Victor went to Los Andes and then returned to Independiente, spending a year at each place. Soon he was sold to Defensor and then to Urlan Elista in Russia. In 2004, he returned to Uruguay to play at Fenix de Montevideo, where he spent two seasons before coming to Banfield. Victor retired at the end of 2008, after two years of service to Banfield.
