An Argentine goalkeeper, Cristian Lucchetti started his playing career in 1995, when he turned out for a local team from his home town, Lujan de Cuyo. The team mostly played in lower level tournaments as well as regional events. A year later, Cristian came to Banfield and made his debut in the top-flight. He stayed at Banfield for a couple of seasons before being sent to Mexican side Santos Laguna. From 1998 to 2004, Cristian was at Santos Laguna and played at the highest level of football in Mexico as well as at the Copa Libertadores.
In 2004, Cristian returned to Argentina to play for Racing Club and then, a year later, he returned to Banfield where he has been since.
