Mario Alberto Yepes Diaz is a Colombia international football player who currently features for the Italian and European giants AC Milan. He plays as a central defender.
Yepes started his professional club football career at Colombian side Cortuba in 1995 and played for them for two seasons, featuring in 59 league matches and scoring 4 goals. He then moved to Colombian giants and hometown club Deportivo Cali in 1997 and scored 7 goals in 61 league matches for them in two season.
In 1999 Yepes moved to Argentine powerhouse River Plate and settled well there, featuring in 79 impressive league fixtures and scoring 7 goals. He was signed by French side FC Nantes and after two seasons moved to French aristocrats Paris Saint-Germain.

Mario Yepes was soon drafted into the first team at PSG and scored 11 goals in 119 league fixtures for them. Yepes was a regular for PSG in those seasons and established himself as one of the best defenders in the French top flight.
Mario Yepes was signed by Chieve Verona in 2008 and after two impressive performances, he joined AC Milan. He has failed to play regularly for the Rossoneri, but was crucial in them winning Serie A in the 2010-11 season.
Yepes made his international debut for Colombia in 1999 and has gone onto play more than 80 international matches for his nation. He won the Copa America in 2001 with Colombia and also featured in the 1999 and the 2007 editions of the competition for his nation.
