Francis Coquelin is a young French football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a defensive midfielder.
Coquelin started his career at Laval in France and initially developed there. He was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2008 and played for the first team against Barnet and Szombathelyi Haladas in pre-season matches.
Coquelin made his first team competitive debut for Arsenal against Sheffield United in September 2008. He has been drafted into the Arsenal first team for the 2008-2009 season.

He was sent on loan to Lorient for the 2010-11 season and scored one goal in 24 league appearances for the French club.
Coquelin has since been part of the Arsenal first team squad but has yet to play regularly for Arsene Wenger’s side.
