Manuel Marouan da Costa Trindad is a young Portuguese football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Fiorentina. He plays as a central defender and is said to be a promising Portuguese football who has the potental to become a Portuguese international.
Manuel da Costa was born and bred in France and started his professional club football career at French side AS Nancy in French Ligue 1. He made his league debut in January 2005 for Nancy and featured in 10 league matches in the 2005-2006 season and also helped his side win the League Cup in France and therefore qualify for the UEFA Cup for next season.
Manuel da Costa was signed by Dutch powerhouse PSV Eindhoven in 2006 and played for them for two seasons. But he was never quite considered a first team regular and featured in just 16 league matches and scored only once. He played in the UEFA Champions League too, making his debut in the top tier club competition in Europe against Liverpool at home on September 12,2006.
In January 2008 Manuel da Costa was signed by Fiorentina.
Although Manuel da Costa was born in France and is illegible to play for France, he has declared his wish to play for Portuguese as he says that he feels Portuguese.
