Walter Alberto Lopez is a young Uruguayan international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club West Ham United. He plays as a defender and can also feature in the midfield.
Walter Lopez commenced his club football at Argentine giants River Plate in 2004 and played for them for three seasons, scoring 5 goals in 44 league matches. He was then transferred to Xerex CD and then moved to UEAG Tecos. After a stint with River plate again in 2008, Walter Lopez was signed by Premiership side West Ham United in September 2008 and he made his debut for the Hammers in a Carling Cup tie against Watford away from home on September 23,2008.
