Arnau Riera is a Spanish football player who is on the books of the English Premier League club Sunderland. He plays as a midfielder and has been loaned out to Scottish side Falkirk United.
Arnau Riera started his club football career at Spanish club Real Mallorca but could never make a first team appearance for the Islanders. He then progressed at FC Barcelona B between 2000 and 2006 and was a regular for them. He even trained with Barca first team in Peralada in 2004 and was the captain of the Barcelona B team in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. In the 2004-2005 season Riera even made some first team appearances for Barcelona or be as a substitute.
Arnau Riera was then signed by Sunderland in 2006 and made his debut for them against Southend United on August 19,2006 but he has played just 1 league match for the Black Cats. He played on for Southend and has been on loan to Scottish club Falkirk United since the summer of 2008.
