Carl Matthew Dickinson is a young English football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers. He plays as a defender and is said to be a promising one too.

Carl Dickinson started his footballing life at the Derby County youth academy and was signed by Stoke City youth academy in 2002. He made his full first team debut for Stoke against Sheffield United on April 1,2004 at the Britannia Stadium. He even won the Man of the Match award in that match. Two days later he signed a professional contract with Stoke.

Carl Dickinson has played on loan first at Icelandic side Vikingur in 2006 and then at Blackpool in the same. He is now of course a firmly settled left back for Stoke City.
