Gretar Rafn Steinsson is an Icelandic international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers. He plays as a right back.

Gretar Steinsson started his professional club career at Icelandic side IA Akranes in 1999 and played for them until 2004, scoring 12 goals in 76 league matches. He was then signed by Swiss side BSC Young Boys in 2004 and played for them for two seasons.

In 2006 Dutch rising power AZ Alkmaar signed Gretar Steinsson and he quickly became an important player for AZ, scoring 7 goals in 61 league matches In January 2008 Gretar Steinsson was signed by Bolton Wanderers for 3.5 million pounds and made his debut for them against Newcastle United in January 2008. He has since gone onto establish himself as a regular first choice right back for Bolton.

Gretar Steinsson made his international debut for Iceland in 2002 and has played 26 matches for his nation so far, scoring 3 goals in the process. His first match for Iceland was against Brazil in an international friendly in March 2002.
