Rachid Bouaouzan is a Dutch-Moroccon football player who features for the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic. He has sent out on loan to NEC Nijmegen for the 2008-2009 season.
Rachid Bouaouzan started his professional club football career at Dutch giants Sparta Rotterdam in 2003. He made his debut as speedy winger and played for Sparta for four seasons, scoring 4 goals in 71 league matches.
On December 17,2004 he committed a heavy foul on Go Ahead Eagles’ Niels Kolmeijer and was suspended by Sparta for the rest of the reason after it was discerned that Kolmeijer had to retire from professional football altogether after he broke his leg badly in that incident.
In the summer of 2007 Rachid Bouaouzan was signed by Premiership side Wigan Athletic for 300,000 pounds on a three year contract. He failed to make any Premier League appearance and has been loaned to NEC.
