Nuno Albertino Varela Tavares is a professional footballer currently signed under club Arsenal of the Premier League as a defender. He wears the number 20 shirt and had been a very active junior football player before turning professional in 2018.

Tavares started playing football at a young age. At only 9 years of age, he started his youth football career under the Casa Pia. He was with the club until 2010 before transferring to Sporting CP. This Lisbon-based club allowed Tavares to train and play for them until 2013, wherein he was transferred back to Casa Pia until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, Tavares became a junior footballer for club Benefica. By October 27, 2018, he made his professional debut and win in the 90-minute match played by Benefica and Sporting da Covilha.

After debuting as a professional footballer under Benefica in 2018, Tavares made his debut in the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira, wherein his team an impressive 5-0 score against Sporting CP.
