Mohamed Shawky is an Egyptian international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Middlesbrough. He is a defensive midfielder.

Mohamed Shawky commenced his footballing career at Egyptian side Al-Masry in 2000 and after three years moved to Egypitian powerhouse Al-Ahly in 2003. He played for them for four years, winning the Egyptian League thrice(2005,2006,2007) and the CAF Champions League twice(2005,2006).

In the summer of 2007, Shawky was signed by Middlesbrough for 650,000 pounds on a three-year contract but suffered due to injuries although he is expected to play more regularly in the 2008-2009 season.

Mohamed Shawky made his international debut for Egypt in 2003 and has played 49 matches for his nation so far, scoring 3 goals. He won the African Cup of Nations in 2006 and 2008.
