He signed with VfL Wolfsburg in 2018 on a four-year contract and enjoyed a productive spell in Germany, regularly scoring goals and becoming a full Netherlands international.
He joined Burnley in January 2022 on a three-and-a-half-year deal as they battled relegation, but was unable to save them from the drop that season. He subsequently went out on loan to Turkish club Besiktas in July 2022, before Manchester United swooped for him in January 2023 where he played under compatriot Erik ten Hag.
He left United after his loan spell expired, eventually landing another loan deal away from Burnley - who had won promotion back to the Premier League - to join German club TSG Hoffenheim.

Weghorst debuted for the Netherlands in March 2018 against England. He was part of the Dutch squad at Euro 2020, scoring against Ukraine. He was also in the Netherlands’ 2022 World Cup squad. He netted two goals against eventual winners Argentina in the quarter-finals.
