Lewis Cook is a professional football player who is presently playing for AFC Bournemouth as the team’s central midfielder. He was also a former member of the national team in England.

Cook graduated from Leeds United’s academy, where he was one of the lucky ones to represent his country at different youth levels. He joined the national team to play in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2018 Toulon Tournament.

Career

Cook was only 15 years when he graduated from the Leeds United Academy, and he joined the [Leeds United]] team before the 2014-15 season. Cook debuted as a substitute central midfielder in a match against Millwall. From then, he had continuous improvement that made him one of the names to play for Leeds alongside Charlie Taylor and Sam Byram.

In April 2015, the Premier League cited Cook that he could sign with them, however, Leeds United’s Neil Redfearn decided to keep their home-grown players with Leeds. 2 weeks after, Cook took home the Championship Apprentice of the Year for the 2014-15 season.

By the following year, he won Football League Young Player of the Year and the Goal of the Season.

In July 2016, Cook surprised his fans when he signed a contract with AFC Bournemouth for a 4-year contract. He debuted in a match against Manchester United, in which his team failed to win against the giant football club. He also appeared in the League Cup but had to be sidelined due to his ankle problem.

In May 2018, he was selected to be a representative for the England national team for the FIFA World Cup. He also became team captain for the Toulon Tournament, where they became champion over Mexico.
